Every year AAIM invites one person from every family to write a tribute in memory of their loved one or a story if you are a victim that was injured. We encourage you to write your story in 500 words or less and include the birth date, crash or death date, and a portrait picture. If your tribute/story has been published in our benefit book in the past, we understand the story has not changed; however, please take the time to update the story and your journey through this difficult time. Email your story and picture directly to your Advocate by Monday, September 10, 2021.
You are also invited to create a 30-40 second video tribute to be played at our virtual event. Due to copyright infringement, please do not add music. We understand that a 30-40 second video to honor or give tribute to your loved one is not easy to make. So let us give you a couple of tips on how to keep it heartfelt and meaningful.
Your video tribute can be emailed to your Advocate or uploaded to https://spaces.hightail.com/uplink/AAIM by Monday, September 10, 2021. If you are not working with your Advocate at this time or have any questions, please contact the AAIM office at 847-240-0027, we will be happy to assist you.
How to make a 30-40 second video Tribute
We understand that a 30-40 second video to honor or give tribute to your loved one is not easy to make. So let us give you a couple of tips on how to keep it heartfelt and meaningful.
1. Keep count of your words
How many words should a 30-40 second video have? In order to fill this lapse, you should have around 80-100 words in your script – no more.
Yes, we know it will be hard to express your sentiments in just 80-100 words. But it’s important so AAIM will have enough time to include all our families during the program.
2. Keep it real suggestions
The basics of what you want to communicate
- Who is your loved one?
- How are they missed?
- If injured, what are their/your struggles?
- What do you want people to know about him or her?
- If injured, what do you want people to know about your journey?
- How has AAIM helped you during this difficult time?
3. Guidelines
- Video- 30-40 seconds long
- MP4 format only
- No music (AAIM will provide the background music to avoid copyright laws)
- Appropriate pictures in your video are welcome and they will help to tell your story
- AAIM will do all necessary editing
